How to reach Lake Garda
Car Travel
Lake Garda can be reached via the A4 motorway “Serenissima” (Milan-Venice, exit Peschiera del Garda) or via the A22 motorway “Brennero” (Brennero-Modena, exit Rovereto for the northern shore or Affi for the southern shore). If you are travelling to Italy from Southwest Germany or Switzerland, you are best advised when taking the motorway Como-Milan-Venice.
Please note that in Austria and Switzerland you need to buy a car windscreen sticker, the so-called “Vignette”, which serves as permit for motorway driving in these two countries. In Italy, a kilometre charge is made for the use of motorways which is payable at the toll stations.
