Arrival by plane to Lake Garda

Flying is indeed the fastest alternative to get to Lake Garda. In the vicinity of Lake Garda, several airports are served regularly from most countries. The connection to Lake Garda is also well-organised.

Valerio Catullo airport in Verona-Villafranca

The airport is closest to Lake Garda and is only 15 kilometres away. It's served several times a day from Frankfurt and Munich by Lufthansa. The low-cost airline German Wings operates between Cologne and Verona. From 5:15 to 23:10, a shuttle bus shuttles almost every 20 minutes between the airport and Verona Porta Nuova central station.

Guglielmo Marconi airport in Bologna

Bologna’s international airport “Guglielmo Marconi” is located about 185 kilometres south of Lake Garda and offers excellent transport connections for travellers from central and southern Italy, as well as international visitors. The most convenient way to continue your journey is by rental car – via the A1 and A22 motorways, Lake Garda can be reached in approximately 2.5 hours. For those who prefer public transport, a shuttle service connects the airport to Bologna’s central train station, where trains to Verona or Rovereto are available. From these stations, regular bus services run to popular lakeside destinations such as Riva del Garda or Peschiera del Garda. Long-distance bus providers like FlixBus also offer direct connections from Bologna Airport to the Lake Garda region.
