Cable car Malcesine-Monte Baldo
Lake Garda also offers the possibility to explore the surrounding area to all visitors. You neither have to be a hiking expert nor have excellent stamina. In fact, several cable cars and chair lifts lead from the villages around the Lake to lofty heights.
The best example is, for sure, the panoramic cable car Malcesine-Monte Baldo. It is unique in the whole world and the cabins revolve around themselves during the journey. In only 10 minutes, you will reach the top of Monte Baldo (almost 1,880 m of altitude) starting in Malcesine and enjoy the unique panorama and wonderful hikes. The cable car is one of the most modern and advanced facilities worldwide and is open both in summer and in winter.
Chair lift Prà Alpesina-Monte Baldo
In addition to the cable car starting in Malcesine, there is the chair lift Prà Alpesina-Monte Baldo. It is open in summer only and can be reached via the road starting in Avio on the Trentino side of the mountain.
In about 10 minutes, you will reach the mountain ridge where you can see Lake Garda with the chair lift. Arrived there, you will have two possibilities: Either you hike back to the starting point in about 1 hour on an educational trail, or you hike to the top station of Malcesine cable car, on a short panoramic trail and stopping by Baita dei Forti.

The cable car from Malcesine to Monte Baldo also allows you to transport your bike as well and then, to go on fantastic bike tours arrived at the top. The hiking trails, MTB trails and the regional delicacies served in the mountain huts will be a real highlight!
Adrenaline junkies will also look forward to perfect conditions. Paragliding in front of the clear-blue waters of Lake Garda is a unique experience.
