Magnalonga - Culinary Hike
For several years now in September, In Negrar, Valpolicella, they have held a unique event that perfectly combines sports and food. The Magnalonga will take place again on 3rd September 2023.
The Magnalonga Settembrina is a culinary hike that leads through vineyards, olive groves and meadows, where the participants are served delicious tastings of regional cuisine at different stages throughout the walk.
The Magnalonga event is organised by an initiative of the town of Negrar di Valpolicella and with the help of many volunteers. The aim is to bring the land and its products closer to the hiking-gourmets, locals and visitors, reviving traditional dishes.
They cover the route in certain sections, and at the end of each stage, awaits various dishes of Veronese cuisine: appetisers with cheese and sausage specialities, antipasti, main courses to cheese, dessert and wine.
Except for your own feet, no other means of transport are allowed, after all, the regional delicacies taste even better if earned on foot. Registration is required to attend Magnalonga. Otherwise, you need nothing more than a good pair of shoes, sunscreen and a desire to hike.
