Monte Denervo and Cima Comer

The area around Lake Garda also offers adventurous hikes for those seeking relaxation. On a quiet summit tour above Gargnano, very fit mountain lovers will get their money's worth.

In Sasso at 546 meters, above the still largely unspoiled Gargnano on the western shore of Lake Garda, a fantastic route begins up to the Cima Comer at 1,279 meters.

From the entrance of Sasso, not far from the fountain, a path with the mark no. 31 leads over olive groves and vineyards towards the Hermitage and rock chapel San Valentino, which is always worth a visit! After half an hour, the path leads to the left towards Cima Comer. The trail leads uphill through the forest to the stream. At the stream, the trail branches off again; for our suggested walk follow the sign to the right, with a steep climb up to the summit. The Cima Comer offers fantastic views of the unique natural diversity of Lake Garda.

On the way back, you descend on the other side through the wonderfully magical beech forest. Keep straight ahead until you reach the summit of Monte Denervo. On the trail no. 32 it goes to the Monte Denervo alp and then to Briano. The hut is open on public holidays during the warm season. From here it's still a good kilometre until you meet path no. 38 - direction Sasso. For this hike on Lake Garda, you need to be in good condition as the total walking time is about 5 hours.
