Mountains and Climbing

The Mediterranean Lake Garda offers a unique panorama with mountains, cliffs and rock faces where both beginners and true professional climbers feel comfortable.

Lake Garda and especially the area around Arco has long been considered a mecca for climbing enthusiasts. This is mainly because many routes can be reached quickly without long ascents. Lake Garda with its beautiful and varied landscape is probably the best setting for climbing adventures of any kind.

When climbing at Lake Garda, you'll find various possibilities. There are many climbing routes of almost all levels of difficulty, via ferratas which take a whole day and gusty alpine climbing tours, which require proper climbing technique, experience and endurance. Extended hikes with a range of climbing passages can be done at Lake Garda, and they're also suitable for sporty families.

If the weather is not good, there are now several climbing gyms and covered climbing walls, such as the Climbing Stadium in Arco, which hosts the legendary Rockmaster climbing competition.

In short, climbing at Lake Garda is a special time. As all climbers now know this, we recommend that you avoid the hot and busy summer months of June, July and August and instead set off on a relaxing holiday in the off-season. Thanks to appropriate facilities and the mild weather of the region, it's possible to climb all year round.
