Riding tips for beginners and advanced

Trekking on horseback is a great way to reach the more remote corners of the landscape around Lake Garda.

Rides are offered both by the hour and by the day, with day trips of seven to eight hours, where you're not sitting in the saddle the entire time.

Overnight stays are mostly in B&Bs, sometimes in managed huts. If you are not relaxed, can't lead a horse on your own or have trouble in the saddle, you should complete a few riding lessons in advance.

Hourly or daytime rides do not require any special equipment. You only need to think of sunscreen, sturdy shoes or hiking boots, and possibly a rain jacket. For multi-day tours, things are different. Your luggage should be as small and light as possible. In any case, comfortable, long pants, helmets, a hat, rain gear, a warm sweater and sunglasses are essential.

If the overnight stay takes place in a hut, you will need to pack a sleeping bag and mat. Then nothing will stand in the way of great riding enjoyment!
